Course Summary

B2

Upper Intermediate

This course has been designed for students in their middle or later years of general secondary or vocational school who wish to increase their understanding of business issues and practise related communication skills in English.

Students discover how businesses are evolving to meet the challenges of globalisation and new emerging markets. They learn about different business models and what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur.

During the course they spend time working in groups to develop a new product, devise a business plan and make strategic decisions regarding sales, promotions and advertising, product placement and branding – in fact everything they need to do to get their product to market! Along the way, they will also develop associated language skills, learn how to plan and deliver a presentation, and be asked to consider issues such as ethics and gender issues in business.

This is a great course for students who want to develop their English skills, have a genuine interest in business and who respond to a ‘hands on’ practical approach to learning.
