This is for students who are in the middle to upper years of their secondary education, and who have been studying English for at least 3 years.
Once they have reached this level of proficiency, learners will naturally want to use their English to communicate about things that are of concern to them. Topic choice and content become increasingly important in order to engage student interest.
In designing this course, we consulted widely with students. As a result, the course incorporates a whole range of topics that are meaningful and relevant to learners of this level and age, including lessons on learning styles, body image, extreme sports, friendship groups and teenage culture.
With students becoming more independent and responsible for their own learning the emphasis is on providing opportunities for learners to exchange ideas in English about the things that really matter to them.
In an attractive, magazine-style format, this course will engage students and encourage them to communicate in depth and detail, with subtlety and nuance, using an array of complex vocabulary and structures.
